Wimbledon Fever Hits Hog Roast Newry!

Hog Roast County AntrimSummer means Wimbledon; Wimbledon means summer. Here at Hog Roast Newry the tennis fever has once again hit as the All-England tournament gets off to a start. Although when it comes to the Wimbledon fever here at Hog Roast Newry, it’s not quite our racquets that we’re picking up but rather our hog roasters as we instead come out to events for customers who do have their racquets in hand and their tennis fever in full flow.

Yes, with the arrival of Wimbledon Hog Roast Newry were lucky enough to get our own local tennis fix by being invited down to one of our local clubs for their Wimbledon kick-off tournament. This is a friendly tournament we have been told the club runs every year just as Wimbledon fever begins to hit, wherein they invite members and non-members to enjoy an afternoon of tennis playing and tennis watching while also enjoying a barbecue. This year, with attendance numbers expected to be larger than previous years, instead of doing the barbecue themselves the club thought it best to invite the professional caterers of Hog Roast Newry in. Normally the club would ask people to bring in a food item to go on the barbecue as their entry to the tournament, but this year instead we were up to serve, and for good reason too as our gourmet barbecue range is guaranteed to put down a set winning ace!

Hog Roast County AntrimWhile the attending players got on with their own matches in a round-robin tournament, our Hog Roast Newry chefs got to prepping our barbecue ready for everyone coming off the courts. It’s a hard business playing so many matches, so the players and attendees took in our burgers, sausages, pulled pork rolls, ribs, and skewers with plenty of excited enthusiasm. Once all matches were played it then became an afternoon of just enjoying the day’s Wimbledon action with as many rolls as one could eat! During a quiet moment, our chef was even convinced to try a rally out on the court – maybe if catering somehow stops working out, a life as the next Andy Murray could be calling!
